Cipio Partners remains climate neutral for the third year in a row and proudly supports four compensation projects

Since 2021 we have actively worked to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and have chosen to offset any unavoidable emissions by supporting four sustainability projects each year. Our initiatives include the conservation of the oceans worldwide, moor renaturation in Germany, as well as a clean water project in Mozambique and a windfarm in Jamaica.

At Cipio Partners we monitor our GHG emissions and strive to reduce them as much as possible. However, despite our best efforts and given the nature of our business, daily activities, business operations and necessary flights result in some unavoidable emissions.

Therefore, we have again decided to offset these emissions by making a voluntary contribution to climate projects' funding. During our offsite in Grassau (Chiemgau) this year we collectively discussed different opportunities and chose four projects as a team.

The first project is a local moor renaturation and rewetting project in Germany, organized by Stiftung Naturschutz. Moors are among the largest and most effective carbon stores on Earth, storing twice as much carbon in their peat as there is in the world's forests.

We also decided to support two projects in developing countries, creating not only environmental benefits but also a positive social impact:

Certified by Gold Standard (the leading best practice standard for offset projects) the first of these projects involve improving water infrastructure in Mozambique, which ensures water quality and reduces the risk of water borne illnesses. This also leads to reduced deforestation through reduced demand to boil water before drinking.

Secondly, we have chosen a United Nations project that builds wind farms in Jamaica. Natural resources are preserved, renewable energy and reduced dependency on non-renewable resources get promoted. Furthermore, the project supports community farming and education through the building of a renewable energy resource center in 2010.

Finally, each year we support Sea Shepherd, an international non-profit marine conservation organization that engages in direct action campaigns to defend wildlife, conserve and protect the world's oceans from illegal exploitation and environmental destruction. As Oceans provide more than half of the oxygen we need to live and store a significant proportion of CO2 emissions, we see this as an important cause to support.

Looking forward to next year, we are committed to further reducing our emissions and supporting projects that make a difference!
