Munich/Luxembourg – November 14, 2016 – Cipio Partners, a leading European secondary direct and growth capital investment firm, announces that it has completed the sale of its portfolio company, 1-2-3.tv to ARCUS Capital, a Munich based private equity firm.
ARCUS Capital, together with co-investors and 1-2-3.tv management, acquired 100% of the company from selling shareholders Cipio Partners, Target Partners and Wellington Partners. Founded as the first German auction based TV shopping channel in 2004, 1-2-3.tv turned profitable in 2009 and generated revenues of approximately €108 million in 2015. With its strong background in media, ARCUS Capital will continue to support management in developing 1-2-3.tv’s unique positioning in the German TV market.
Christoph Wedegaertner, Partner at Cipio Partners and former Chairman of the Board of 1-2-3.tv commented: “Our investment in 1-2-3.tv is a good example of how we can combine secondary opportunities with actively supporting growth and value realization of our portfolio companies. We acquired the shares in 1-2-3.tv from one of the original VC investors in 2009 and then supported management and employees who have done a tremendous job in profitably growing the business over the last years. Cipio Partners led the negotiations with ARCUS Capital who is the right partner for the senior management to successfully build-out the business over the longer-term”.
